What is Six Month Smiles?
The Six Month Smiles system uses either invisible aligners or clear braces to quickly straighten only the teeth visible when you smile. Unlike other orthodontic treatments, which focus on straightening the bite of your smile, Six Month Smiles only focuses on aesthetics. Treatment can be completed in around six months since it doesn’t need to correct your bite.
Who is eligible for Six Month Smiles?
Six Month Smiles is best for patients with easily-resolved alignment issues like small gaps and moderate crowding. If you have severe issues with your bite, we’ll most likely recommend another treatment.
What’s the process like?
Once you’ve begun Six Month Smiles, you’ll need to avoid certain foods, like popcorn, sticky candies, whole apples, raw carrots, corn on the cob, chewy breads, and gum. Maintaining good oral hygiene is important too. After your treatment is complete, you’ll need to wear a retainer to stop your teeth from shifting back.
How much does Six Month Smiles cost?
Because treatment time is short, Six Month Smiles is typically more affordable than traditional braces. While some dental insurance plans may cover a portion of the cost, many won’t because it’s a cosmetic procedure. However, our office accepts CareCredit financing, which breaks the cost of treatment into affordable monthly chunks.
